This blog is intended to be an exchange of ideas, information and techniques related to Photoshop. Along with posts about my latest projects I will include Photoshop "Tips and Tricks", from basic to semi-advanced.

When I started my career in photo retouching over 25 years ago not everyone had the ability to work on photos. The simplest retouching, 'red eye', could not be done easily without the right tools, dyes, often chemicals and experience.

Today we all have some sort of photo editing on our computers or online. Of course many know how to use photo editing tools correctly and have shown the expertise that comes with daily use of a great program like Photoshop.

This blog is for everyone else.
I can not tell you how many times I've been asked to take red eye out, fix stray hairs or change a background. I will show you step-by-step how to do these and much more, for yourself.

My reason is very simple, not many can afford to pay the hourly rate of a professional retoucher, so, most times the image stays the way it is or it gets utterly ruined by someone that doesn't know what they're doing.

Unless otherwise stated, you will not need the latest, greatest version of Photoshop or special plug-ins. All you will need is a basic understanding of Photoshop, be familiar with such things as your tool bar, layers and menu. Also helpful, know what a .jpg, .tif, .psd is and the difference between them. Know what your image DPI is and how to find out.
